RE-LAUNCH OF PINEAPPLE SAUVAGE
Why I Created Pineapple Sauvage in 2019
Pineapple Sauvage was never created to reinvent perfumery.
It was created to solve a much simpler problem - most affordable men’s fragrances either smelled painfully generic or tried far too hard to smell “luxury” while completely losing their identity in the process.
When I first created Pineapple Sauvage years ago, I wanted to make something that immediately grabbed attention, smelled undeniably masculine and simply made people feel good when they wore it. Not overly complicated. Not pretentious. Just a genuinely addictive fragrance that people would reach for day after day without even thinking about it.
The Gap It Was Designed To Fill
At the time, the fragrance world was full of heavy oud bombs, dark spicy compositions and ultra-serious niche fragrances that often felt more concerned with impressing fragrance enthusiasts than actually smelling enjoyable to the average person. On the other side, designer releases were becoming increasingly safe and forgettable. Everything started smelling polished, clean… and almost identical.
Pineapple Sauvage sat in the middle of those two worlds.
Bright Fruit, Dark Edges
The opening pineapple note gives the fragrance an instant burst of energy. It’s bright, juicy and uplifting in a way that immediately pulls people in. But what made the fragrance work wasn’t just the fruitiness - it was the contrast underneath it.
The smoky birch, earthy patchouli and musky ambroxan stop the fragrance from becoming overly sweet or youthful. There’s a darkness running quietly beneath the freshness that gives it character.
That balance is what made people connect with it.
Mass Appealing Without Being Generic
It smelled modern and mass appealing, but still had enough edge to feel confident and masculine. You could wear it casually every day, but it still carried presence. It became one of those fragrances people constantly recommended because it was easy to wear, easy to enjoy and difficult to dislike.
Why We Brought It Back
Honestly, because people never stopped asking for it.
Over the years we’ve released more complex fragrances, darker fragrances, richer fragrances and more experimental creations - but Pineapple Sauvage remained one of those scents people remembered. Customers would still mention it years later. Some still had old bottles they were rationing because they didn’t want to run out.
That told me something important.
Not every fragrance needs to be an artistic statement. Sometimes a fragrance succeeds because it simply understands what people actually want to wear.
Back To Where It Started
Bringing Pineapple Sauvage back also felt like reconnecting with the roots of what started this journey in the first place. Before the industry trends, before the endless marketing buzzwords and before every brand tried to convince people they were selling “luxury”, there was just the goal of creating fragrances that made people excited to spray them.
That’s exactly what Pineapple Sauvage achieves.
It’s bold without being overpowering. Fruity without losing its masculinity. Dark enough to feel confident, but fresh enough to wear effortlessly.
Most importantly, it reminds me that sometimes the simplest ideas are the ones people remember the longest.
